Latent Heat Of Fusion

 LATENT HEAT OF FUSION:-

ðŸ‘‰ It is defined as the amount of heat energy required to cahnge 1kg of a solid  into liquid at atmospheric pressure without any change in tempreture at its melting point.

👉 It is observed that latent heat of fusion of ice is 33600 J/K  or 80 kcal / kg.

👉 Ice at 273k is more effective in cooling than water at 273k. This is due to the reason that for melting each kilogram of ice absorbs latent heat of 334700joules from the substance and hence cool the substance more effectively.
